Initial Popularity of Generative AI Greater than Tablets, Smartphones

Generative AI use in its first two years will outstrip that of both tablets and smartphones in their first two years.

By November of 2024, it is predicted that there will be 77.8 million users of generative AI, which is twice the number of tablets and smartphones after their first two years.

More about the rapid adoption of generative AI:

  • It’s a low-cost platform to try out because there’s no hardware necessary to give it a try, as users already own the devices needed to use it.
  • While it’s still somewhat of a novelty, almost three-quarters of marketers are using it to some extent, according to a study from March of this year.
  • Use of generative AI will slow down eventually, but millennials and Gen Z users will keep it popular.
